Ear Q Press and testimonials, Resources and links
Ear Q in Space! Ear Q recently went aloft on the Space Shuttle and was used in experiments to gauge hearing sensitivity and potential loss during extrended space missions. Here's Russian Cosmonaut, Sergei Krikalev floating around in the Russian Service Module sleeping quarters using the Ear Q Reference Hearing Analyzer .

Letters from Ear Q users out in the field
Suzy Davis, Keyboard and Guitar player extraordinaire, has toured and/or recorded with Prince, Billy Idol, Mick Jagger, Melissa Etheridge, Pat Benatar, and way too many others to list in one sitting.
"While on tour in '95, I developed a marked hearing loss and serious case of tinitus in one ear due to exposure to live sound. I became obsessed with protecting my hearing, and for the next two years wore in-ear monitors with gun mufflers[earmuff hearing protectors] on stage and carried a dB meter with me wherever I went.
If I had had the EarQ system I could had a much better way of ascertaining how exposure to live sound was aggravating my condition. The ability to monitor hearing [abilities] on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis is an invaluable tool for anybody concerned with protecting ones ears from exposure to amplified music."
Kathy Peck, The H.E.A.R Foundation.
" H.E.A.R. has been working for over 13 years to educate musicians and the public about hearing conservation. We have used the Ear Q Reference Hearing Analyzer to provide musicians and sound engineers with self test hearing screening at our events and hearing programs and have found it reliable, accurate, and easy to use .
"I feel that people whose hearing is at risk from high sound levels would benefit from regular hearing checks like those done by the Ear Q Reference Hearing Analyzer. If a change in hearing is detected early on, further damage can usually be prevented by using appropriate hearing protection and seeking the advice of an ear doctor or an audiologist."

"The Airphones work great when I'm mixing monitors because I can get the isolation I
need on a loud stage "
Scott Theakston Ex'pressions Center for New Media, Emeryville, CA
"Once I listened to the Airphones with music as a test source, it became an oft repeated ritual. Thankfully, I have retained enough of my hearing through years of abuse that I don't require excessive volumes for monitoring (especially in headphones); in fact loud levels tend to cause me discomfort these days. What also blew me away about my use of the Airphones this weekend was that I was able to hear my mix clearly over the adjacent be bop bonanza without monitoring at a significantly increased level. That's what's amazing about the product! Periodically the sax players would come over to get a listen during someone's solo and I'd give the headphones over without boosting the level for them (the room was about +30dB hotter than the headphone mix), and before I could change the level (from habit), I realized that they were totally loving what they heard. In fact, they commented several times that they'd rather be listening to the show through the cans! The fact that a low level headphone reference mix in a loud club (with PA above the monitoring position) translated beautifully to the outside world says a lot about the quality of your product."

"The Ear Q system fills a current void in the audiologist's tools of trade. It provides an efficient means of hearing self-assessment for a population of individuals [musicians, engineers, et al] who are at-risk for hearing loss and who are not being reached by current hearing conservation programs. The staff at our facility found Ear Q to be a unique system that allowed for a novel. approach to hearing, monitoring protocols, loudness measures, and assessment of ultra-high frequencies. More applications will certainly be forthcoming.""
